When inserted on the tube side of Tubular Heat Exchanger equipment, as the name suggests, tubulators create turbulence and channel flow away from the center, outward toward the boundary layer. This makes turbulators a good option for heat exchangers, coolers and condensers where flow regimes and viscosities of cooling fluids are such that it causes laminar flow.
